Jamaica, Sandals Whitehouse

May-2006

As we benefit from air travel, several resorts also give employees considerable discounts.  For a quick weekend escape, Paul and I venture to Jamaica and stay at Sandals Whitehouse resort.  Traveling with Paul is alway an adventure and after the long bus ride from the airport, we’re greated at the front desk with champagne and a welcome kit of all sorts of creams.  During several of our trips together, we’re sure many must have thought that both Paul and I were in some type of relationship.  A relationshiop with each other!  Thankfully not, but our need for excitment and travel kept us together until the closure of our Montreal office.

May was definitely a slow period. The beach, pool and grounds were completely empty but the area was gorgeous and attention to detail was their strong point.  Paint along walls had no chips, pool was extremely clean, grass was manicured and shrubs were surely trimmed with a level.  This resort was known for their European flare and the architure surely proved that.

Our walks along the pier and beach felt a little awkward since we were literaly a hand full of quests on this mega-acre resort. We do prefer a more lively resort but the tranquility allowed us to relax for the short while we were there.

We had a great view from our room , but looking down on an empty beach made us wonder if we missed any signs of evacuation.

With the quick stay, we were back on the bus to airport and already planning for our next trip.
